First Post

Earlier this week, I graduated from NWTC and received my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I applied to my first big girl job this Friday. Applying on a Friday was a horrible idea because I have little patience to wait until at least Monday to hear back from anyone. The job would be in a preschool room from 12:30-8:30 Monday-Friday. I will especially enjoy sleeping in, while disregarding the fact that nearly my entire day will be shot.

I received a letter in the mail from Bay Beach yesterday inviting me to work there again this summer. If I'm not mistaken, this would be my 8th summer there. I have yet to decide if I want to sub there on weekends this year or not. I still have a few weeks left to make that decision. Just a few weeks ago, my sister kindly pointed out my sock tan line from last summer. I checked again after receiving that letter and noticed that it is finally nowhere to be found.

My entire body is now as ghost white as my toes. Ok, that is a lie. My hands feel as awful as they look; pink, dry, cracked, and stinging. I dread having to wash my hands 20 times a day if I get that job in the preschool room. That is why I have decided to give in and call a dermatologist tomorrow. Hopefully I am not told to see a doctor and get tested for allergies. My poor mother is allergic to latex and fragrances. She also can not eat foods with seeds in them or nuts. She pretty much lives in a bubble. She was not always this way either. Each new allergy slowly developed and sometimes disappeared, and re-developed. I fear that I may be taking after her, but I shall remain optimistic  I already have TMJ, seizures, and migraines. What's one more mild nuisance? I'm Super Woman!

I went shoe shopping today with my mother and got two pairs of shoes. In spite of that, I came home and got rid of 3 pairs. 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. My cousin is going to kick me in the but when she reads this. However...I got a new pair of pink pants on sale yesterday at Shopko along with a pair of rubber gloves to wear when I take part in my excessive cleaning episodes. Not that my hands could possibly get much worse than they already are.

Fun facts:
  • My little sister is turning 11 in 3 days. She is officially as I call it a "hormonal tweenager".
  • Daylight savings time begins in one week. As ridiculous and outdated as this is, it is still a fact. I foresee this silly celebration will be extinct at some point in my lifetime. I very much miss Mr. Golden Sun and look forward to his extended presence. I hear it is supposed to hit 40 degrees this week. Please shine down on me, but please don't tease the crops and me like you did last year.
  • I just realized that one of my ear ring holes has closed up. Now I have two holes in one ear and one hole in the other. I am uneven, or as my aunt would put it "fung shway".
  • Tonight was a third reminder that I need to catch up on the show Walking Dead. Does anyone own the beginning of the first season or know where I could find it? Please don't suggest the internet. My lap top has no sound.
This first blog has become incredibly long. It is time to wrap it up. Until next time. Happy reading everyone!

  1. You are right. I do want to kick you. I'm very impressed that you did buy new shoes and with this post, for that matter. Good luck with the job search and applications!
